After leaving Forrest we drove down to Old Homestead Cave. After the road between Weebubbie and Forrest, we found ourselves on a veritable super highway, flat, no rocks but still dusty. Nothing much to see, just MMBA, I took a few photos of the great open spaces and one effort at an arty shot. One wondered why they built a fence out in the middle of no-where, a lot of effort to go to, I think it was some sort of corral. Continue reading
ABRAKURRIE CAVE is about 50k north west of Eucla and is reported to have the largest single cave chamber in the southern hemisphere and aboriginal hand stencils which are evidence of the deepest penetration of aboriginal art in any cave system. 
Weebubbie Cave … an amazing pool, in the depths of the earth under desert, if you were in the area, this was a “must do”. Show-cased recently on something like Catalyst, it was probably the main reason Wendy and I decided to go on the Nullarbor trip, the film footage was spectacular. 
As we drove off the Nullarbor highway, into the mulga scrub, we were wondering what we’d gotten ourselves into, we hardly knew these people! Where on earth we were going; then they stopped, got out of the cars and literally made camp almost on the road! We had arrived at Murrawijinie Caves.
