So, here we were again, another Oz Day LWE, will it be third time lucky?  The Repeat Offenders, me, Steve C, Jeff B, Len S, plus Simon R and Tamara C (both experienced bush walkers).  Jenny couldn’t join us, she’d had a fall and had sustained a head injury just a few weeks earlier, so Jen, this trip’s for you! Ettrema Gorge – April 2009

DSC00572Quiera Clearing > Jingles Pass > Ettrema Gorge > Transportation Spur
Ettrema Gorge, a creek which runs through Morton National Park, on its way to the Shoalhaven River … for those “in the know”, this is the ultimate in places to bushwalk, crystal clear pools, towering bluffs, and pockets of rainforest.

Ten days on the Travers Sabine route

NZ wildflowersNEW ZEALAND – TRAVERS SABINE ROUTE – FEBRUARY 2008
Peter C put this trip on the BWOC calendar and as I’d been on another trip with him to NZ I thought it would be a great opportunity, and he’s so good at organising everything, virtually all I’d have to do is book my flight and turn up on the day!  In the end Jeff B, Ross W, Mark M, Rob McC and Viv also signed up which made a great party.   Continue reading →

Morong Deep #1 – finally I’m getting to do it

Kowmung Fire Trail ford > Kowmung River > Morong Deep > Megalith Ridge > Morong Hill > Morong Falls Fire Trail
Morong Deep had been on the BWOC calendar a couple of times, mainly with Geoff S leading the trip.  I’d always missed out and I decided that it was time to do it, I talked Steve C into leading the trip for me as I had no idea even where it was (could have looked on a map but too lazy), plus I suspected there might be some climbing involved and as Steve had done it before, he’d know all the pitfalls that might befall the unwary.
