M***m canyon – a little gem

NEWNES PLATEAU – 17 August 2018
2½ years ago, when canyoning with Aine and Colin G, they mentioned that there was a canyon called M***m “in this area”.  My first expedition to find it after pouring over topo maps gave me hope (it looked like a canyon) so we did the second expedition to do what I thought was M***m but it was a dismal failure, I wasn’t even in the right area although we didn’t know it at the time.

What? Another Mogo Walk?

I know, three walks to Mogo in the space of a month is verging on the ridiculous, BUT, it’s virtually in my back yard!  Trish M was keen to get back out in the bush after a few weeks off, so we decided to cross another trip off my wish list.  I complicated it slightly by asking Trish to drive up to Boree Trail on Friday to do a water cache, what I thought would be 1.5 hours each way turned out to be a 5 hour round trip (probably should have looked at the route on whereis.com!). IYDM Trip #1 Perryman Falls

ETTREMA TOPS – 13 – 15 July 2018
An IYDM trip is something I really want to do, but it would challenge me, a trip along the lines of “In Your Dreams M”.  I met up with the Legendary Louise out on Ettrema Tops last Easter and her enthusiasm about the area was contagious.  We started talking about all the places to explore including Perryman Falls.  By this time the long fire trail bash was a distant memory – I’d forgotten my words at Easter were “never doing that again”!
