CAVING in TASMANIA – Part 4 – IDA BAY 12 – 16 March 2020
And the answer to the question above … probably not!  The idea for my trip to Tassie came out of a trip to Mystery Creek Cave back in January 2019.   We made our way all the way to the bottom of Midnight Hole and I looked up into the black void and decided then and there I really wanted to do the Midnight Hole/Mystery Creek trip (while I still could).  So, here we are on our way to Ida Bay to do Midnight Hole … I had tacked on a few other caves to flesh out the experience. 2 weeks before Armageddon and Lockdown

CAVING in TASMANIA – Part 3 – MOLE CREEK – 10 – 11 March 2020
I’m struggling with writing this post.  As you can imagine, I write the post after the event, sometimes a couple of weeks after (in this case, 27th March).  A lot has happened in the past 16 days. The world is in chaos, and I’m in lockdown mode in an effort to protect myself and everyone else, to support the measures the government has put in place and in sympathy with all those people who have got the virus or lost their jobs over the last week. Kubla Khan – I might hold a record for this cave

CAVING in TASMANIA – Part 2 – MOLE CREEK – 9 March 2020
So, we’re up to our 6th day at Mole Creek, and the plan is to do Kubla Khan.  Now, Kubla and I have a history … I did it 2 years ago, and had a few issues, first I fell into the pool at Sally’s Folly and then I got temporarily stuck in a squeeze.  And that’s pretty much all I remember of the trip, which let me tell you took us 12 hours (underground), but it was a photography trip and so slower than normal.
