Wollangambe Adventures

Wollangambe Crater – 26 – 27 November 2016
A walk to Wollangambe Crater wouldn’t usually be blog-worthy but, as with many of my trips, not everything went according to plan.  MSS member Mark posted on FB that he wouldn’t mind doing an overnight walk to the Crater and asked if anyone wanted to go along.  Having done the trip more times than I’d like to remember, and knowing that MSS isn’t really into overnight walks, I volunteered to go with him, and to add a bit of a challenge, to do some off track and give him some navigating pointers. Old favourite canyons

Geronimo and Yileen Canyons – 12 & 13 November 2016
After 4 trips down Geronimo Canyon and 2 to Yileen, a return to both wouldn’t really be blog-worthy, but given that the last time I was in Geronimo was 2010 and the last time I did Yileen was in 2001, it was like visiting the canyons for the very first time.  But it really became blog-worth when the track that used to be well worn to Geronimo was virtually non-existent, involving an unusual entry into the creek. I’m never going anywhere without my GPS again

Canyoning – Newnes Plateau 15 & 16 October 2016
I did say that we’d be doing exploratory canyons and not to expect too much, maybe there’d be some constricted canyon, maybe not.  They were after all unpublished canyons and if they were any good they’d be in the Guide!  Am pretty sure though that the weekend’s canyoning exceeded all expectations, PLUS I gave Rod the opportunity to gloat!
