Morong Deep (this long weekend’s adventure) is a trip that we’ve attempted 4 times over the past 6 years. In finishing the trip, we improved our success rate from 33% to 50% and we all survived relatively unscathed. Continue reading

Surefire Canyon – from the track notes it didn’t look like it would be a 14 hour day!
SUREFIRE CANYON – DECEMBER 2013
My first mistake was agreeing to do a one day canyon on the Newnes Plateau, and not driving up the night before, and driving home the day after. What is it with Lindsay and these “day” canyon trips, it was a round trip of 6.5 hours before we even did the canyon (which turned into an epic). Yes, I’d never done Surefire and I really wanted to do it, but sometimes you have to stop yourself! Continue reading
